1536 The city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, was founded by Spanish conquistador Pedro de Mendoza. 1709 Scottish sailor Alexander Selkirk, the inspiration for Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe, was rescued after four years alone on an island off the coast of Chile. 1848 The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, ending the Mexican War, was signed. In the treaty, Mexico ceded to the United States a huge portion of what is today the American West and Southwest, including California and New Mexico. 1870 The Cardiff Giant was revealed to be a hoax. 1876 The National League of Professional Baseball Clubs was formed. 1887 The first gathering at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsatawney, Pa. to wait for the groundhog’s shadow occurred. 1922 James Joyce’s Ulysses was published. 1943 Nazi troops surrendered in the World War II Battle of Stalingrad. 1990 South African President F. W. de Klerk lifted a ban on the African National Congress and promised to free Nelson Mandela. 2003 Czech Republic President Vaclav Havel stepped down after 13 years.

Strip Quilting Project 2

Strip Quilting 2 has something for everyone including; log cabin variations, place mats, wallhangings, denim quilts and scrap quilts, just to name a few. Techniques include bindings and prairie points, matching seamlines, cutting, sewing and pressing tips, and how to decide which batting and filling to use, along with many others.

Strip Quilting Project 3

Kaye simplifies 12 unique projects including place mats, star wallhangings, a biscuit quilted pillow (without making individual biscuits), puff quilting, baby quilts, and a  wallhanging. Techniques include fabric preparation, measuring and cutting, sewing and pressing accurately, matching seamlines, borders, bindings and finishing.

Strip Quilting Project 4

With Strip Quilting Projects 4 create a beautiful Caribe jacket using Create-a-Strip techniques that cover the front and back yokes. Tips include choosing fabric for wearable art, fabric preparation, cutting and sewing accurately, matching seamlines, designing decorative vests, and finishing the jackets and vests. Size 6-22

Strip Quilting Project 5

12 projects include: Amish Square Wallhanging, lace trimmed couch quilt, reversible baby quilt, Lone Star Wallhanging and many others. Techniques include: Crazy patchwork, using large prints, seminole, squaring up on point designs, lace tipped squares, reversible tubes, safety pin basting and continuous bias binding.  As with all of Kaye’s books, finishing techniques, supply lists and accuracy tips are included. Also included are three 8.5″ x 11″ quilt stencils for the Lone Star and Amish Square.

Strip Quilting Project 6 

This unique book takes traditional quilts, like the rail fence and bargello designs a step further into fashion forward garments. With Kaye as your instructor and a pre-purchased sweatshirt to start with, it couldn’t be easier. Tips include  fabric preparation, fabric design, measuring and cutting accurately, matching seamlines, and borders and bindings to name just a few.

Strip Quilting Project 7 

12 different blocks each with several variations, including Kaye’s Morning Glory Trellis Quilt. Directions include simplifying half-squares and quarter-squares by using bias tube strips. Techniques include fabric preparation, working with the design of the fabric, accuracy in measuring, cutting, sewing and pressing as well as matching seamlines. Finishing tips include sashing, borders, marking, batting, layering and basting, machine quilting, bindings and finishing.

Strip Quilting Project 8 

12 projects including Porthole Sky Sampler, Autumn Leaves – an attic window quilt and a Stormy Sea Pillow.Ready to try something new? This Landscape and Seascape book may be just what you’re looking for.Accuracy in cutting, sewing and pressing is stressed as well as working with the designs of the fabric and matching seamlines. Lots of finishing technqiues such as borders and bindings, batting, layering, machine quilting, hangings and figuring how wide your bindings should be.

 Strip Quilting Project 9

Featuring a wonderful Victorian Sampler quilt, this book is easy enough for a beginner, but challenging enough for the more advanced. 12 different blocks are trimmed with laces, ribbons and decorative machine stitching. Techniques include kaleidoscope, bias tubes, half-squares, quarter-squares and stripped stars.
