This week Kaye talks about her Teacher Certification Classes and her one day lecture/demo/trunk show seminars.

Kaye’s Teacher Certification Classes are a 1 day “sit and sew” event for teachers. These classes are for people who want to go out and teach Kaye’s techniques.

Currently there are 2 classes scheduled. Sun City, AZ on 2.11.09 and Cincinnati, OH on 4.18.09. Students will pick an area of interest and the classes will be tailored to those areas. Suggested themes are (suggestions only).

• Topless Triangles
• Diamond Stars
• Pinless Matching of Different Seams
• Hexagons and Honeycombs
• Fussy Cutting

Classes are kept small to ensure individual attention, she tries to  keep it to no more than 5 students.

After students are certified, they can set up classes any way they want whether it be a one day class, or once a week over several weeks, and they are free to teach Kaye’s methods where ever they want.

One Day Lecture/Demo/Trunk Show Seminars

These are usually for between 100 and 200 people. Kaye talks you step-by-step through her different techniques. We try to schedule them back to back with the Teacher Certification Classes so that Kaye can introduce the new teachers to the area.

These seminars usually consist of 2 hours in the morning and 1.5 hrs in the afternoon with a lunch break in between (lunch is usually included in the price).

Currently scheduled seminars are

• 4.19.09 in Cincinnati, OH
• 5.2.09 in Stanley, WI at Sew & Sew Quilts and Fabric Shop, at The Timbers
• Currently looking to schedule something in Grand Rapids, MI and Madison, WI
