These are some of the projects in Kaye's Everyone Can Quilt Book.
Lone Star |
Kaye is convinced that Everyone Can Quilt! Just follow along through this step-by-step manual to learn the tips and techniques that make it possible.
Quilt Engineer is how Kaye thinks of herself. She develops the techniques necessary that insure accuracy and success. She designs projects for both the Pointless (no points to match) and the Pointed People. If you have watched her popular TV series, Kaye's Quilting Friends on PBS, you are familiar with these terms. She goes into great detail on accurate cutting and sewing, and how to check your work in her Accuracy Tips given throughout the book. |

For the Pointed People, she has step-by-steps for matching seamlines, including Interlocking seams, Finger pinning, Needle matching, Crease marking, 60° matching (which eliminates pinning), Y-seams and Diamond matching. She also includes some ideas for "desperation matching" for those impossible fabrics.
Kaye's sewing techniques include Anchoring seams, Starter Scraps and Lock stitching. Her pressing tips include Setting seams and Rolling strips . The projects start with some Pointless or No-Problem quilts. These are great for novice quilters because there are "No Problems". Each project builds on the previous project, but introduces at least one more element or technique. |
Starlight |
Confetti Pinwheel Quilt and Confetti Star Pillow |
Because of Kaye's original techniques, the whole section on stars and diamonds is easy enough for almost any quilter to do. She shows how easy these projects are when used with the Starmaker® 5, Starmaker® 6 and Starmaker® 8 Master Templates.
Do you know how to get your quilt "noticed" at a quilt show? It's in this book!. Do you know how to "Quick-Fold" your binding strip and how to perfectly miter your binding corners? It's in the book! |

Teachers who use this book for classes report great success. Some use it exactly as a manual, starting at the beginning through to the end. They say "everything a quilter needs to know is included so that indeed, Everyone Can Quilt."
Funny and unusual things seem to happen to Kaye as she travels along this quilting road. She shares some of these humorous stores throughout the book, ending with her tacky "cruise outfit". |
